Marnie Hirst is the Owner and Senior Editor of Hirstywords. She has a Bachelor of Writing and Composition from Griffith University. She is a passionate and voracious reader of all genres, a self-confessed word nerd with a lifelong interest in literature, writing, grammar and the English language. Marnie is also a published writer of creative non-fiction, so understands both sides of the editing experience intimately.
She has been freelance editing for years, is experienced in most genres but with a penchant for guiding writers of fiction and non-fiction through their journey towards publication. She has an instinctual ability to recognise and develop a writer's own voice and style, and is an empathetic communicator, making the editing and feedback process an enjoyable and richly rewarding one for the writer.
Marnie is a member of IPEd, the Institute of Professional Editors.
